Akai MPC OS 3.10 Update Launches with MPC 3 Desktop

Akai MPC OS 3.10 Update Launches with MPC 3 Desktop

Akai Professional has released the free Akai MPC OS 3.10 update for its standalone hardware line, arriving alongside the official general release of MPC 3 Desktop out of beta. The firmware update enhances timeline sequencing, unlocks expanded performance pads on newer hardware, and refines workflow options for Force grooveboxes. Existing hardware owners can download the firmware directly over Wi-Fi or update via their computer through Akai Professional.

Refined Arrange Mode and Expanded Pad Modes

The central focus of MPC OS 3.10 is hardware arrangement flexibility. Akai has overhauled the Arrange Mode with dedicated marquee, track, and arrangement selection modes. These tools make it much easier to select, duplicate, split, or shift large multi-track sections without tedious menu diving on the touchscreen.

Hardware with the newer MPCe pad configuration—such as the MPC Live III and flagship MPC XL—receives expanded controller mapping. Users can now run 8x8 Notes and Clip Launch layouts, providing immediate hands-on control across 64 pads for real-time clip triggering and melodic performance.

Akai Force Updates and MPC 3 Desktop Release

Standalone Akai Force users gain several much-requested features in this firmware cycle. The update introduces 16-level scale support, immediate visual feedback for Arp Latch, and improved Pad Mode shortcuts to accelerate live jamming. General maintenance also cleans up CV port visibility, loop editing responsiveness, and expansion pack detection.

Simultaneously, MPC 3 Desktop has graduated from public beta into an official production release. Desktop users can run the environment standalone or load it as an instrument plugin inside third-party DAWs. Notably, this version includes native AAX plugin support, allowing Avid Pro Tools users to integrate the modern MPC 3 workflow directly into their sessions.
